OUR CLUB
At Northside FC, it’s more than just football – it’s about building community. We welcome everyone to join in, whether you’re new to the game or a seasoned player, from Melbourne’s inner-northern suburbs and beyond. Come be part of something bigger, and share your journey with us.
We believe in celebrating individuality – your experiences and perspectives are what make our club unique. If you feel a spark as you read this, then we’re on the same page and excited to have you with us.
Our first season in 2025
In 2025, Northside FC celebrated a successful inaugural season, competing in Football Victoria’s State League Women’s Division 5 North, hosting social kickabouts, and proudly winning the Julie Murray Cup in the annual Pride Football Australia Tournament.
What we’re about
A fresh start
We aren't held back by outdated systems, and we represent a new beginning in grassroots community football. We are addressing the challenges of underrepresentation and exclusion in football with a leadership team that reflects our diversity. We ensure that women and gender diverse people are central to every decision we make.
Melb’s inner north
We are proudly located in the vibrant suburb of Preston, part of the northern region known for its diverse community and strong local engagement.
A united, diverse squad
We create a welcoming football community for women, girls, and gender-diverse people, with programs designed for enjoyment and personal growth. Our players include beginners and experienced footballers, parents returning to football, and diversity in age range and skill levels.
Real connections
Founded by a group of players who share a passion for soccer and a commitment to enhancing the experiences of women and gender-diverse players. We believe clubs need to make real changes to better support inclusivity and keep people involved.
Coaching with heart and purpose
Our coaches, Taryn Heddo and Clare Cudars reflect our values and diversity. Their coaching is informed by their experiences in football, enabling a safe and inclusive environment for our players. We provide our coaches with training and mentorship to help them grow, enjoy their roles, and contribute to the club’s success.
Enjoying the game
Enjoying soccer is what it's all about. When players have fun, they’re more engaged, build skills, and connect with others. It’s also a great way to create a community and meet new people. We believe soccer should be for everyone, bringing people together through a shared love of the game.
