Here’s what’s coming up in 2027
Women’s State League & community League
Northside FC expanded its senior program in 2026, tripling in size with three teams competing in Football Victoria’s State League Women’s (SLW) competitions under West Preston–Northside FC:
SLW Division 6 (NW): Division champions
Two SLW Division 8 (NW) teams: Finishing second and seventh
Our players bring a wide range of experience, from former State League 1 players to those just starting out.
All teams are designed for individuals who want to play full-pitch football in a competitive setting and supportive environment.
In 2027, Northside FC is hoping to expand further to four senior teams across Football Victoria’s Women’s competitions:
State League Women’s
Community League
The new Community League will offer both a competitive environment and a social, community-focused pathway for experienced to beginners, returning players and those wanting to enjoy football without the pressure of high-level competition. Annual grading will help ensure teams are matched with opponents at a similar level, creating a positive and competitive playing environment.
The 2027 Competition Structure
Following a trial of an expanded eight-division State League Women’s competition in 2026, Football Victoria is changing its women’s competition structure for 2027. The State League will be reduced to four divisions, with a new Community League introduced alongside it.
As part of this restructure, clubs competing in Divisions 5-8 of the State League in 2026 will not automatically retain a place in the 2027 season. Northside FC will therefore need to apply for a place in the new State League structure.
Given our club’s growth and success in 2026, including a State League championship and strong results across all three teams, the club is hopeful of a successful application to enter the State League. Regardless of the outcome, the club is committed to providing multiple pathways for women and gender diverse adults to play senior football across both the State League and Community League.
Registration fees for the 2027 season will be confirmed soon. In 2026, Women's State League registration was $500 per player. This fee covers Football Victoria and Football Australia registration fees, playing strip (jersey, shorts, and socks), and Northside FC operating costs.
Social football program
Northside FC offers flexible social football opportunities for anyone looking to stay active, develop skills, and be part of a welcoming football community — without the commitment of competition.
Training-Only Memberships
Northside FC welcomes training-only members. We understand that busy schedules, injuries, or other commitments can make it hard to take part in competition football, but training is a great way to stay connected to the game, to fitness and to a football community.
For players who choose our training-only option, the cost is $100 per player to offset operations costs (ground hire, lights and coaching).
Northside Kick Ons
Northside Kick Ons are the club’s social football sessions – relaxed, short-format games open to club members, friends, and the wider community. Perfect for those new to the game, time-poor, or simply looking for a fun way to stay active. They’re a great way to enjoy the game in a supportive, inclusive environment.
They’re ideal for:

Players of all skill levels and backgrounds
Busy people looking for a regular kick
Those seeking a fun, welcoming football community

We are proud to be LGBTQIA+ friendly, and in 2026 held our first Pride Round to celebrate our LGBTQIA+ players, supporters and wider community. We also proudly participate in LGBTQIA+ football events and competitions, including Football Victoria’s Pride on the Pitch Cup and Pride Football Australia tournaments, providing opportunities to compete, connect and celebrate diversity through football.
We are also a family and parent-friendly club, creating a welcoming environment for players and their families to connect, support each other and be part of the club community.
At Northside FC, football is for everyone — whether you’re new to the game, returning after a break, or have been playing for years.
Junior Girls Program
Northside FC welcomes opportunities to support girls in football and grow participation in our community. We believe in creating pathways for girls to enjoy the game, build confidence, and be part of a supportive football environment.
While we don’t currently have an active junior girls program, we’re open to supporting one in the future, or welcoming existing teams and coaches who are looking for a club to call home.
